Prior to the establishment of iHost Solutions, we recognized that many companies and individuals did not have the technical talent necessary to build web applications, but at the same time they did not have the technical infrastructure or networking background to support a hosting solution.

During this time, the founders of the company were in the process of identifying potential web hosting solutions to host an e-commerce web site which they previously developed. The owner of this web site viewed it as mission critical and as a result required 24x7x365 accessibility. All of the solutions available that were capable of meeting the web site's availability requirement were very expensive. The average cost of each solution was over $10,000/month which far exceeded the available budget of the web site's owner.

Several of the staff responsible for the creation of the web site were frustrated by the high cost and decided to investigate the feasibility of creating a lower cost offering to meet the perceived demand. In late 1999, iHost Solutions was born with a charter to provide affordable high availability hosting offerings for small to medium sized companies.

iHost Solutions now owns and operates two data centers within the Columbus Metropolitan area.
