What is Dedicated Hosting?
A dedicated hosting solution consists of a dedicated environment provisioned by iHost Solutions for the sole use of the client. The dedicated environment includes an isolated instance of operating system for client use.
What is the difference between Dedicated and Co-Location?
With dedicated hosting, iHost Solutions provides the entire server environment for use by the client including all equipment and operating system. iHost Solutions is responsible for the health of the equipment including replacement in the event of failure. Co-location solutions place this level of responsibility on the client. The client is responsible for providing the machine, operating system, and any maintenance required to the equipment.
What makes iHost different?
Our approach is to be different by focusing on our clients as our business partners, and gearing our business model to insure the success of both our clients and ourselves.
We are a creative and agile firm and have the capability to deliver outstanding quality and service at a cost that is affordable to our client base. We own and operate our own data centers, secure facilities that include redundant fire suppression, redundant climate control and is carrier-neutral. This allows us to provide reliable solutions that maximize value to our clients. We have intrinsic advantages that allow us to offer a premium solution and maintain a cost-conscious approach. We also offer the option of a service and hardware financing package, enabling our clients to avoid an expensive initial fee and allowing them to budget for a set monthly fee.
Why can’t I do this in-house?
The two primary reasons to outsource your hosting solution are based on cost and business focus. The costs of implementing a proper hosting environment are significant, and maintaining your own hosting environment does not benefit any other segment of your business.
The initial cost consists of providing an appropriate facility with a correctly configured server, backup for the server, redundant power, redundant air and climate conditioning, redundant fire suppression and redundant bandwidth. Secondly, your firm would have to implement the manpower necessary to support your web presence 24/7/365.
Many firms outsource their legal representation, their accounting and often their human resource functions. Outsourcing your hosting to ihost allows your firm to focus your assets on what you do best.
Do you offer co-location?
Yes, along with a remote reboot system, tape backup, 24/7 service capability and other related services. We can provide a total solution for firms that need to manage their own servers, but do not have optimum facilities.
Can we tour your facility?
Yes, please contact us at 614-985-0492 or questions@ihostsolutions.net. We are located on the North side of Columbus, OH.
Do you offer hardware?
Yes, we offer all major manufacturer lines and can modify each to meet the needs of our clients. We can also create a cost conscious hardware solution by building a server, customized for the requirements of an application.
Why security is an important issue?
Today’s online business and social circumstances presents numerous obstacles that can result in costly losses of time, money and valuable information. Viruses, malicious attacks, and hijacking of resources are concerns of any organization with an Internet connection. Viruses propagate and affect anyone using the Internet. Malicious attacks may not seem like a major threat to the small to mid-size businesses, but former disgruntled employees and competitive organizations are the leading perpetrators of such attacks. Resource hijacking is when hackers break into host networks looking for bandwidth and computing power to steal for their own purposes, often wrecking your system and at the very least, tying up your connections for hours or days. ihost Solutions has safeguards in place that prevents your web presence from such malevolent acts.
